The Armenian National Gallery is the great art museum where you'll find a remarkable collection of Armenian and foreign works: paintings, sculpture, engravings and religious art from the 7th to the 20th centuries. (Over 300 works on-line.) http://www.gallery.am/
The Matenadaran is the manuscript museum. Some 17,000 books and manuscripts are conserved there, though only 1% are publicly exhibited. The oldest manuscript dates from the 6th century; the first printed pages in Armenian (printed in Venice) date from 1512.
