Anne and Patrick Poirier are a couple, both artists and both born in 1942. They studied at the Ecole des Arts D\u00e9coratifs de Paris and were artists in residence at the Villa Medici in Rome from 1967 to 1972. They create and produce their works together, including Utopian cities and reconstructed ancient sites.<\/p>\n

In 2011 they were named Officiers dans l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The work “Jeu de construction – D\u00e9p\u00f4t arch\u00e9ologique” [Construction Set – Archeological Repository] is a representation of an ancient city made out of blocks of hand-cut and hand-polished blocks of obsidian. They are very characteristic of the work of Anne and Patrick Poirier\u2014ancient architecture and an archeological vision of the City with an accumulations of blocks, columns, a temple\u2014all in all, over 100 pieces making up the construction.<\/p>\n

The work is limited to eight signed copies, exclusively at Galerie 8 + 4.<\/p>\n

Galerie 8 + 4<\/em>,<\/strong>\u00a0focuses on limited editions of multiples, prints, original creations and jewelry by international artists and designers.<\/p>\n

Each work brought out by Galerie 8 + 4<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is the result of a meeting, conversation and a long maturation process with the creator, thereby opening up new possibilities among several practices and mediums.<\/p>\n

The artists the gallery has brought out in recent years include: Pierrette Bloch, Antoine Catala, Philippe Favier, Fabrice Hyber, Alex Katz, Claude L\u00e9v\u00eaque, Vera Molnar, Roman Opalka, Giuseppe Penone, Fran\u00e7oise P\u00e9trovitch, Anne et Patrick Poirier, Claire Trotignon, Bernar Venet, Tomas Vu and Lawrence Weiner. As for designers: Atelier BL 119, Fran\u00e7ois Azambourg, Pierre Charpin, Odile Decq, David Dubois, R\u00e9gis Mayot, Nestor Perkal, C\u00e9dric Ragot and more.<\/p>\n
